RIVERWAYS | STOKE GABRIEL DEVON
Contemporary new-build 4 bed family house with south facing views towards the River Dart. The overall design of the building aims to target PassivHaus standards in terms of air tightness, thermal insulation and energy efficiency, using triple glazing and highly insulated timber framed wall and roof construction systems.
The building design maximises it’s vantage point on the site, orientated due south to maximise daylight penetration whilst afford far reaching views across the Mill Pool towards the River Dart. The building is proposed to be clad in a white masonry to the ground floor and a cedar weather boarding to the tapered first floor, with a zinc standing seam mono-pitch roof. A full width inset balcony has been integrated into the first floor of the southern elevation to frame the river views whilst mitigate overlooking into the neighbouring properties.
The crisp detailing and mix of open plan living spaces arranged across a series of stepped internal floor levels maximises the re-development of this steeply sloping site, with the new building matching in height that of the original dual pitched roof bungalow.
The proposed plans have been submitted to the Local Authority for Full Planning Permission and is currently on-going.
